Clive joined the leader of Greenwich Council, Chris Roberts, in a visit to the nearly completed Eltham Centre. The pair saw the three new pools in the centre – one an 8-lane county-competition 25m pool with sophisticated touch timing – and the spaces to be used by Greenwich Community college.
“This new facility is an exciting development for our Town Centre” says Clive. “It’s central location means it is easily accessible by all members of our community, young and old. On top of all of this the Library is getting a £1.7 million renovation.”
Clive joined councillors, local bowls players and other’s when he joined the Mayor of Greenwich’s Bowls Team as they took on the Blackheath and Greenwich Bowling Club in Brooklands Park. Continue reading
Clive was invited along to the Mecca Bingo Hall in Eltham Hill where he met with the local staff and senior management of the Rank Group who own Mecca.
After their meeting Clive was invited to call the numbers. “That was more nerve-wracking than asking a question at Prime Minister’s Question Time” he said afterwards.
Clive Efford MP joined local volunteers in Eltham High Street to sell raffle tickets to help raise money for the Greenwich branch of the bereavement charity Cruse. The September Teddy Bear Raffle was raising money for the charity’s new Children’s Bereavement Project.
