Gordon Brown came to Shooters Hill Post-16 Campus on Saturday. The Chancellor had been invited by Clive Efford to see the impressive facilities at the Campus and to meet an invited audience.
After chatting to the members of the 100-strong audience he talked of his vision of the National Health Service. He stressed the importance of improving access to an NHS providing a full range of services.
Clive Efford, who had invited Gordon to his Shooters HILL said: “The people of Eltham and Plumstead were absolutely delighted to be given the opportunity to meet Gordon in this way. It was clear that they shared and supported his vision.”
One of those who spoke to Gordon was Lee Abbott, a resident on the Page Estate. She explained about the plans for the Page Estate Action Project to build a community centre on the Estate. He promised to try and attend the opening of the centre.
