Last night Clive voted against the Government’s Education Bill. He told a packed House of Commons that resources should be directed at the most disadvantaged children.
Speaking after the debate Clive said “We have got to improve every school if we are going to increase choice. The education Bill talks about increasing choice by creating diversity and competition in our schools. However, I do not believe that introducing competition will drive up standards and address the problem of social exclusion.”
Because so many MPs wanted to speak in the debate, speeches were limited to only three minutes.
